I suppose that countries should not have the right to possess chemical and biological weapons. I'd like to explain my opinion from the two perspectives. One of the perspectives is how the society has changed regarding this issue, and another is what is a possible counterargument against my opinion.

Firstly, the society has changed largely. The past common sense and experience are not always applicable to the modern society. We need to change our way of thinking as the society changes.

Since the end of the war, countries have developed chemical and biological weapons to strengthen their military power. The power became strong enough to kill plants and humans easily, and a lot of environmental destruction has caused by using the weapons so far. Actually, due to the weapons, many people are still suffering from the aftereffects, and many deformed children have been born.

Secondly, this topic is controversial and I think everyone never agrees on a single opinion. Everyone has each position and experience. It is better to consider opinion from different viewpoints before concluding than to ignore it.

Some nations think that it is necessary to possess chemical and biological weapons to defense their territories. However, a first step toward real peace is that international disputes must be solved by diplomacy, and any conflict resolution with weapons must be prohibited.

In conclusion, I believe that countries should not have the right to possess chemical and biological weapons. In addition to that, it may be a good idea to make some kind of consensus in the society about this issue in order to make the society better. Thank you.
