これが英検1級の2次試験で用いるスピーチの雛形だ。


黒字の部分は面接前に暗記しておく雛形の部分で、どのトピックを選択しても使える形となっている。

赤字の部分が選択したトピックに応じて、その場で考えて追加する部分である。

雛形は参考例であり、形式を真似つつ文章自体は自分で使い易い表現を用いて一から作った方が、暗記し易いだろう。

私は「現代社会において科学は芸術よりも重要」と思います。私の意見を2つの観点から説明したいと思います。その観点の一つは「この問題に対して社会がどう変わってきたか」、もう一つは「私の意見に対する想定される反論は何か」です。

まず初めに、社会は大きく変わってきています。過去の常識や経験が常に現代社会に適用できるとは限りません。社会の変化に応じて、私たちは考え方を変える必要があります。

社会にインターネットやテレビがなかったとき、芸術は美しさや感情、エンターテイメントを表現する重要な役割を果たしていました。しかし、現代社会においては、インターネットやテレビを通じて色々なものを見ることができます。芸術はもはやそれらを表現する唯一の手段ではなくなったのです。

次に、この問題は賛否両論あるものであり、全ての人が同じ意見に同意することはないと思います。それぞれの人にはそれぞれの立場や経験があります。異なる視点からの意見を無視するのではなく、それを踏まえて結論を出すことは大切なことです。

芸術が文化をより豊かなものにしている、と主張する人もいるでしょう。しかし、社会に対してはるかに貢献しているのは芸術よりも科学です。私たちは農業技術のおかげで飢えなくてよいし、医療技術によって病気から救われています。

結論として、私は「現代社会において科学は芸術よりも重要」と確信しております。加えて、社会をより良くするためには、この問題に関して社会で何らかの合意を形成することは良い考えかもしれません。以上です。

I suppose that the sciences are more important than the arts in today's society. I'd like to explain my opinion from the two perspectives. One of the perspectives is how the society has changed regarding this issue, and another is what is a possible counterargument against my opinion.

Firstly, the society has changed largely. The past common sense and experience are not always applicable to the modern society. We need to change our way of thinking as the society changes.

When the society didn't have the Internet, the arts used to play an important role of expressing beauty, emotion and entertainment. But in the modern society, we can see various things through the Internet and the television. The arts are no longer only a way to express them.

Secondly, this topic is controversial and I think everyone never agrees on a single opinion. Everyone has each position and experience. It is better to consider opinion from different viewpoints before concluding than to ignore it.

Some may argue that the arts make our culture richer. But the sciences contribute to the society far more than the arts. We don't starve thanks to the agricultural technology, and we are saved by the medical technique.

In conclusion, I believe that the sciences are more important than arts in today's society. In addition to that, it may be a good idea to make some kind of consensus in the society about this issue in order to make the society better. Thank you.
