中には、お金を払っていれば、他の物と同じように水も私的所有物となる、という人もいるでしょう。しかし、水が汚染されれば、環境は簡単に破壊されてしまいます。このような観点から水は公共のために大切に使うべき資源です。

結論として、私は「水を私的所有物として扱うことは容認されない」と確信しております。加えて、社会をより良くするためには、この問題に関して社会で何らかの合意を形成することは良い考えかもしれません。以上です。

I suppose that it is not acceptable to treat water as a private commodity. I'd like to explain my opinion from the two perspectives. One of the perspectives is how the society has changed regarding this issue, and another is what is a possible counterargument against my opinion.

Firstly, the society has changed largely. The past common sense and experience are not always applicable to the modern society. We need to change our way of thinking as the society changes.

There had scarcely been argument whether water was a private commodity because Japan's water resource is rich enough. However, it is regarded as a problem that foreign companies has recently tried to buy Japan's water source. Many people now think that water resource should be controlled as public property.

Secondly, this topic is controversial and I think everyone never agrees on a single opinion. Everyone has each position and experience. It is better to consider opinion from different viewpoints before concluding than to ignore it.

Some may say that water can be a private commodity like other commodities as long as money is paid for it. However, the environmental destruction could easily be happen if the water was contaminated. From the point of view, water should be public property to be used carefully for all.

In conclusion, I believe that it is not acceptable to treat water as a private commodity. In addition to that, it may be a good idea to make some kind of consensus in the society about this issue in order to make the society better. Thank you.
