I suppose that teachers should be responsible for parenting their students as well as teaching lessons. I'd like to explain my opinion from the two perspectives. One of the perspectives is how the society has changed regarding this issue, and another is what is a possible counterargument against my opinion.

Firstly, the society has changed largely. The past common sense and experience are not always applicable to the modern society. We need to change our way of thinking as the society changes.

In the old days, it used to be common that children were parented by people in their neighborhood as well as by their parents, but nowadays children are not parented well enough even in their families. Under this situation, teachers should also be responsible for them instead of their families. Otherwise, their morals do not grow during their development of character, and there is even the possibility of committing crime in the future.

Secondly, this topic is controversial and I think everyone never agrees on a single opinion. Everyone has each position and experience. It is better to consider opinion from different viewpoints before concluding than to ignore it.

Some say that school education is responsible only for study while family is responsible for parenting. However, education should include parenting to form good personality as well as to acquire knowledge.

In conclusion, I believe that teachers should be responsible for parenting their students as well as teaching lessons. In addition to that, it may be a good idea to make some kind of consensus in the society about this issue in order to make the society better. Thank you.
