I suppose that contemporary politics should be taught in schools. I'd like to explain my opinion from the two perspectives. One of the perspectives is how the society has changed regarding this issue, and another is what is a possible counterargument against my opinion.

Firstly, the society has changed largely. The past common sense and experience are not always applicable to the modern society. We need to change our way of thinking as the society changes.

In recent years, young people are not interested in politics with low voter turnout. Their attitude may have negative impact on democracy. Therefore, it is essential for them to be concerned with politics and to learn it in the early stage of their life.

Secondly, this topic is controversial and I think everyone never agrees on a single opinion. Everyone has each position and experience. It is better to consider opinion from different viewpoints before concluding than to ignore it.

Some say school is a place where young people should acquire basic academic skills, and they are likely to be given prejudice about politics depend on the ways of teaching it. However, young people could participate in politics more easily with the basic knowledge learned at school, and it also helps opinions of young generations to be reflected on politics.

In conclusion, I believe that contemporary politics should be taught in schools. In addition to that, it may be a good idea to make some kind of consensus in the society about this issue in order to make the society better. Thank you.
