I suppose that the use of animals for medical research can be justified. I'd like to explain my opinion from the two perspectives. One of the perspectives is how the society has changed regarding this issue, and another is what is a possible counterargument against my opinion.

Firstly, the society has changed largely. The past common sense and experience are not always applicable to the modern society. We need to change our way of thinking as the society changes.

Medical science has made a dramatic advance across the world in recent years, and to enhance the high safety for medical treatment is required at the same time.Therefore, experiment on animals is essential,which is expected to become the key to the treatment of intractable illnesses.

Secondly, this topic is controversial and I think everyone never agrees on a single opinion. Everyone has each position and experience. It is better to consider opinion from different viewpoints before concluding than to ignore it.

Some say that lives of animals are precious as well as the human race, and we should not sacrifice them to our personal selfishness. However, as long as we ask new treatment method and development of medicine, experiment on animals is not to be avoided. Therefore, we should minimize sacrifice to take advantage of it, and it is important to keep morality at the maximum.

In conclusion, I believe that the use of animals for medical research can be justified. In addition to that, it may be a good idea to make some kind of consensus in the society about this issue in order to make the society better. Thank you.
