I suppose that the mass media plays a positive role in society. I'd like to explain my opinion from the two perspectives. One of the perspectives is how the society has changed regarding this issue, and another is what is a possible counterargument against my opinion.

Firstly, the society has changed largely. The past common sense and experience are not always applicable to the modern society. We need to change our way of thinking as the society changes.

In recent years, we can receive news from the world almost instantly thanks to the spread of TV. The mass media has become important. People can get a lot of information and knowledge from the mass media, and it has played an important role to deepen our understanding.

Secondly, this topic is controversial and I think everyone never agrees on a single opinion. Everyone has each position and experience. It is better to consider opinion from different viewpoints before concluding than to ignore it.

Some say that many people spend enough time on TV to be likely to damage their health and social contacts. However, mass media can research and analyze information in detail from various viewpoints, and it is sometime hard to be understood only by the announcement of the police or the government. The mass media is essential for discovering truth.

In conclusion, I believe that the mass media plays a positive role in society. In addition to that, it may be a good idea to make some kind of consensus in the society about this issue in order to make the society better. Thank you.
