私は「高齢者は今日の社会において差別を受けていない」と思います。私の意見を2つの観点から説明したいと思います。その観点の一つは「この問題に対して社会がどう変わってきたか」、もう一つは「私の意見に対する想定される反論は何か」です。

まず初めに、社会は大きく変わってきています。過去の常識や経験が常に現代社会に適用できるとは限りません。社会の変化に応じて、私たちは考え方を変える必要があります。

日本は急速な高齢化社会が進みつつあります。それに伴い税収制度や福祉などを見直し、高齢化社会を支えるための対策を整えつつあります。医療費においては、高齢者は若者よりも少ない負担となっており、高齢者は優遇されています。

次に、この問題は賛否両論あるものであり、全ての人が同じ意見に同意することはないと思います。それぞれの人にはそれぞれの立場や経験があります。異なる視点からの意見を無視するのではなく、それを踏まえて結論を出すことは大切なことです。

しかし少ない収入の高齢者にも税負担をするシステムは差別的であるという意見もあります。しかしながら高齢者のための公共交通機関安く利用できるサービスや、観光施設などでで割引サービスを受けられるための優遇的なサービスもたくさんあります。それゆえに社会の中において高齢者は少ない負担で日常生活を過ごせるように、たくさんのシステムが整えられているといえます。

結論として、私は「高齢者は今日の社会において差別を受けていない」と確信しております。 加えて、社会をより良くするためには、この問題に関して社会で何らかの合意を形成することは良い考えかもしれません。以上です。

I suppose that senior citizens are not discriminated against in today's society. I'd like to explain my opinion from the two perspectives. One of the perspectives is how the society has changed regarding this issue, and another is what is a possible counterargument against my opinion.

Firstly, the society has changed largely. The past common sense and experience are not always applicable to the modern society. We need to change our way of thinking as the society changes.

In Japan, a society has been aging rapidly. Therefore, a government policy for maintaining tax revenues or welfare has been revised, and a policy for an aging society has also been established. For example, in terms of medical expenses, the elderly people have to pay for them less than younger people have to.

Secondly, this topic is controversial and I think everyone never agrees on a single opinion. Everyone has each position and experience. It is better to consider opinion from different viewpoints before concluding than to ignore it.

Some say that the income of senior citizens is small, and it is discriminatory to impose taxes on them. However, there are many preferential services for senior citizens such as using public transportation cheaply or discount services in tourist facilities. Therefore, there are many systems for senior citizens to lead their dairy life with less burden.
