Firstly, the society has changed largely. The past common sense and experience are not always applicable to the modern society. We need to change our way of thinking as the society changes.

Production of genetically modified crops has recently increased. It has greatly contributed to increasing efficiency and productivity in agriculture, which multiplies crop yields in the region. Therefore, the technology makes food price cheaper and ensures a stable food supply in the world.

Secondly, this topic is controversial and I think everyone never agrees on a single opinion. Everyone has each position and experience. It is better to consider opinion from different viewpoints before concluding than to ignore it.

Some say that genetically modified crops may destroy a conventional ecological system because their modified genes affect other plants. However, modified crops are resilient to abnormal weather, and they are effective measure against possible climate change in the future.
